MARY SCHEER – Actor/Comedian

MARY SCHEER – versatile actor, writer, voice artist and violinist, Mary Scheer is a character actor who started at the Groundlings Theater where she performed for 5 years with Will Ferrell, Wendy MCclendon-Covey, Michael Hitchcock, Tim Bagley, Lisa Kudrow and many others. Many Guest Star roles, most recently “Life in Pieces” and “2 Broke Girls.” Series regular, Mrs. Benson, on “iCarly” and one of the original cast members of “MADtv” – who can forget ‘Cabana Chat with Dixie Wetsworth.’ Hundreds of series regular voiceover jobs including “Penguins of Madagascar,” (Alice the Zookeeper) and “Hey, Arnold!” (Suzie Kokoshka) “Family Guy” and “King of the Hill.” Worked with Martin Short on 6 episodes of “Prime Time Glick” and was a writer and performer on “The Martin Short Show.”

 

 

SCOTT ATKINSON – Actor

SCOTT ATKINSON – the talented actor is known for his roles in John Woo’s “Windtalkers”(2002), “Dexter” (2006) and “JAG” (1995). Atkinson is most memorable as Cassandra Peterson’s co-star in “Elvira’s Haunted Hills” (2001) portraying the ever-so-charming Dr. Bradley Bradley (the man with the wonderful George Sanders’ voice). Atkinson most recently starred in “Confessions of a Teenage Jesus Jerk” (2017) directed by Eric Stoltz.

 

KEVIN TENNEY – Director/Producer/Writer

KEVIN TENNEY – is an acclaimed film director, producer and screenwriter, best known for directing cult classic 1980’s horror movies “Witchboard” (1986) and “Night of the Demons” (1988) starring Amelia Kinkade, Cathy Podewell, William Gallo, Hal Havins and ‘Scream Queen’ Linnea Quigley as high school seniors partying inside the isolated ‘Hull House’ funeral parlor. Tenney followed these favorites up with more cinematic horror gems including “The Cellar” (1989), “Witchboard 2: The Devil’s Doorway” (1993) and “Pinocchio’s Revenge” (1996). He is currently in pre-production on “Don’t Let Them In” (2017) a classic anthology horror film based on stories from the best selling books Don’t Let Them In and Still the Shadows.

 

 

CASSANDRA PETERSON – Recipient of the PRICE AWARD

CASSANDRA PETERSON – Living legend and creator of the drop-dead sexy and rib-achingly funny character Elvira. Elvira, Mistress of the Dark first gained fame on Los Angeles television station KHJ-TV wearing a revealing, black, gothic, cleavage-enhancing gown as host of Elvira’s Movie Macabre, a weekly horror movie presentation. Her wickedly vampish appearance is offset by her comical character, quirky and quick-witted personality, and Valley girl-type speech. Peterson started her career with a bang, being featured in the classic and very camp Bond “Diamonds Are Forever.” Peterson is a successful Producer, Writer and Actress as well as all-round business woman. She Produced/Wrote and Starred in one of the greatest Gothic horror film homages of recent times, “Elvira’s Haunted Hills” – a pitch perfect and loving tribute to Corman’s Poe cycle and the work of Vincent Price in particular.

 

 

SAM IRVIN – Director/Producer/Writer

SAM IRVIN – is a veteran film and television director, producer, screenwriter, author, journalist and educator. After beginning his career as the assistant to Brian De Palma on “Dressed to Kill,” Irvin directed many movies, including “Guilty as Charged” (Rod Steiger, Lauren Hutton, Heather Graham, Isaac Hayes), “Acting on Impulse” (C. Thomas Howell, Linda Fiorentino, Nancy Allen, Paul Bartel Isaac Hayes, Cassandra Peterson), and “Kiss of a Stranger” (Mariel Hemingway, Dyan Cannon, David Carradine) for which he also wrote the original screenplay. Irvin has also produced a dozen additional films, including co executive producing Bill Condon’s Academy Award winning motion picture, “Gods and Monsters” (Sir Ian McKellen, Brendan Fraser, and Lynn Redgrave). He is most proud of directing Cassandra Peterson’s wonderful “Elvira’s Haunted Hills” which we will be screening on our opening night.

VICTORIA PRICE – Presenter of the PRICE AWARD

VICTORIA PRICE – Daughter of famed iconic actor, art lover and collector VINCENT PRICE. VICTORIA has helped  the VINCENT PRICE ART MUSEUM grow into one of over 9,000 pieces. In 1951, impressed by the spirit of the students and the community’s need to experience original art works first hand, VINCENT PRICE donated some 90 pieces from his own collection to EAST LOS ANGELES COLLEGE in Monterey Park, California, thus establishing the VPAM, the first “teaching art collection” owned by a community college in the United States. We are honored to be presenting the family authorized PRICE AWARD at this years HHF. It recognizes an artist whose work has achieved iconic status, and celebrates the continuing legacy to the one, the only VINCENT PRICE.

PAT JANKIEWICZ – Author, FANGORIA Journalist

Celebrated author, legendary FANGORIA journalist and probably one of the nicest people in the horror business today.  PAT JANKIEWICZ recently followed up his first Award winning book “Just When You Thought It Was Safe: A JAWS Companion” with an outstanding historical look at the classic TV series, “THE INCREDIBLE HULK.”  Appropriately titled “You Wouldn’t Like Me When I’m Angry! (A Hulk Companion)” it’s published by BearManor Media.  JANKIEWICZ probably knows everyone who’s anyone in the business today (from Romero to Cameron) and is an authoritative voice on the contemporary horror movie scene.  Renaissance man that he is, JANKIEWICZ even takes time off to act in movies as varied as “K-PAX” & the recent release “GANGSTER SQUAD.”

MIKE DAVIS – Producer, Director, Writer (STAG FILMS)

Award-winning Writer and Producer based in Los Angeles. DAVIS wrote and co-produced the cult feature “PERVERT” (2005) – directed by JONATHAN YUDIS. This highly acclaimed comic homage to the films of RUSS MEYER features a rare R-rated role for MARY CAREY.  DAVIS followed this up with his unique “Green Film” “SEX GALAXY” (2008) – distributed through Unearthed Films.  Most recently DAVIDS wrote, directed and co-produced the multi-Award winning political satire “PRESIDENT WOLFMAN.”  Currently being screened on the festival circuit, “PRESIDENT WOLFMAN” has so far collected Awards for Best Film, Best Script, Best Editing, Best Comedy and Audience Favorite and has secured major digital, VOD, and DVD/Blu-ray distribution.

ROLFE KANEFSKY – Producer, Director, Writer

Award-winning director ROLFE KANEFSKY has written and directed 15 feature films and written another 11 produced features over the last 17 years. He is the winner of two Best Director Awards for “NIGHTMARE MAN” at the Horror, Sci-Fi, Fantasy & The Supernatural Film Festival in Las Vegas & at the I.F.F.Y.N.T.X. Festival in Texas.  He directed the cult horror flick “THERE”S NOTHING OUT THERE” (TROMA DVD), festival favorite “TOMORROW BY MIDNIGHT” starring Jorge Garcia (TV’s “LOST”), Carol Kane, and Alexis Arquette (“PULP FICTION”) released by Warner Home Video, and “THE HAZING” (2004) starring Brad Dourif and Brooke Burke.  KANEFSKY is currently developing a modern “Tales From The Crypt”-style horror series entitled “ONCE UPON A HORROR.”

LOTTI & JOHN KNOWLES – Writer/Producer/Director Team & co-founders of VAMPIRE-CON (WEIRDSMOBILE PROD.)

LOTTI & JOHN KNOWLES are both a husband & wife filmmaking team and co-founders of the successful horror convention/festival VAMPIRE-CON (2009-2012 at New Beverly Cinema).  They are currently promoting the DVD and VOD release of their first major feature film, CHASTITY BITES – with its unique spin on the “Blood Countess” Elizabeth Bathory legend. They have experience in alternative financing, production and distribution, and Lotti has also run successful crowdfunding campaigns for documentaries she produced such as I AM DIVINE (about the legendary John Waters icon). Their WEIRDSMOBILE PRODUCTIONS banner is based in Los Angeles, and they’re currently developing other genre films.

MILES FLANAGAN – Director (& Founder) of one of the most outrageous and unique Horror film festivals (and events) in the US.  You certainly can’t ignore the wonderful B&B logo!  Promoting industry mixer events as well as film festivals since 2010, FLANAGAN certainly knows a thing or two about old-school ballyhoo and publicity – bringing burlesque humor, and Hollywood glitz & glamor to every occasion. The beautiful, blood spattered BOOBS & BLOOD Awards were personally designed by BOOTY BABE artist SPENCER DAVIS – Award honorees include ROGER CORMAN, YUTAKA IKEJIMA & QUENTIN TARANTINO.
