The HOLLYWOOD HORRORFEST film festival wrapped this weekend with the 4th Annual VINCENT PRICE AWARD, which this year honored JOHN LANDIS. The award is given to artists who have created iconic work equal to the late, great master of menace. In this case for the hugely influential and game-changing John Landis written & directed classics AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON and MICHAEL JACKSON’S THRILLER.

It was a wonderful afternoon with the Landis family coming to celebrate Price’s film career and art legacy. Vincent’s daughter, VICTORIA PRICE presented the award and also gave an enthralling and moving talk on her father and his passion for the arts. The award was followed by a informal conversation with festival head, MILES FLANAGAN, discussing these two iconic films and their continued popularity and cultural impact.

The event was a fundraiser for the VINCENT PRICE ART MUSEUM in East LA.

“PIG KILLER” – with stars Jake Busey, Bai Ling, Lew Temple, Robert Rhine and Chad Ferrin in-person. More TBA

About this Event

“PIG KILLER,” based on one of the world’s most prolific serial killers Robert ‘Willy’ Pickton, has it’s highly anticipated Charity World Premiere at HOLLYWOOD HORRORFEST on Nov. 4. Present during the event are stars Jake Busey and Bai Ling, who receive lifetime achievement awards at the event. Also present is Co-star Lew Temple plus Writer/director Chad Ferrin, Prod/actor Robert ‘Corpsy’ Rhine and many more TBA.

This outrageously horrific tale stars Busey (Stranger Things, Starship Troopers, The Frighteners) in the role of a lifetime as Canadian serial killer Willie Pickman. The script is inspired by the true story of Vancouver serial killer Willie Pickton who murdered 49 women and fed them to his pigs.

The film is packed with genre stars, including Bai Ling (The Crow, Exorcism At 60,000 Feet), Lew Temple (The Walking Dead) and Ginger Lynn (The Devil’s Rejects) as Pickman’s mother. The film is written and directed by Chad Ferrin (Night Caller) and produced by Robert Rhine (Exorcism at 60,000 Feet) who co-stars as RCMP Detective Schneer alongside his partner Detective Oppal (Michael Pare).

“PIG KILLER graphically depicts the rape, torture, slaughter and dismemberment of forty-nine young women on a pig farm. With his herculean hog, Balthazar, Willy terrorizes Vancouver’s seedy downtown with a horrific series of brutal murders.” – Robert Rhine/Producer

The evening is a fundraiser for the KEEP-A-BREAST FOUNDATION.

HOLLYWOOD HORRORFEST plays host to a rare CHARITY screening of José Ramón Larraz’s acclaimed 70s lesbian vampire classic VAMPYRES (1975) with star ANULKA DZIUBINSKA in-person. So pull up your nylon flares and get ready to be transported back to a world of depravity and seduction in gloomy 1970s Britain.

The film focuses on pair of young vampiric women who lure passers-by to their decaying country mansion to satisfy their sexual blood fetish. Though that description sounds like countless other erotic chillers of the day, what makes this film particularly unique and successful is in its execution. Cinematic auteur José Ramón Larraz wraps the film in a cloak of almost dialogue-free erotic dread. Resulting in a taboo-breaking, erotically charged, blood soaked horror like no other.  A cult classic that truly deserves its reputation. So don’t miss this rarely screened gem with its star ANULKA in attendance.

Award winning actress ANULKA DZIUBINSKA will be on hand after the screening as she discusses her film career in 70s British horror, living in swinging London, being a Bunny Girl, Playboy Playmate and the stars she met, and how she survived working with legendary ‘enfant terrible’ director KEN RUSSELL on the set of LISZTOMANIA, with Roger Daltrey and Ringo Starr.

ANULKA will also be receiving HOLLYWOOD HORRORFEST’S first HALL OF FAME Award for her work in this groundbreaking, and eminently enduring classic. She will be also available for signings after the screening. Seating is very limited. So get your tickets now.

The event is a fundraiser for the KEEP-A-BREAST FOUNDATION.

HOLLYWOOD HORRORFEST Team

We want to personally thank Victoria Price for being at this year’s HOLLYWOOD HORRORFEST and being there to present the PRICE AWARD to Sid Haig. We know it meant so much to Sid to receive it from Vincent’s daughter. And again we and the entire audience were enthralled by Victoria’s eloquent and entertaining (and very revealing) talk on her great father. We could have listened to her all night long, it was that good.

We’d also like to thank everyone at the VINCENT PRICE ART MUSEUM for their continued support of the festival and particularly to Sonia Mak and her husband for attending this year’s event and introducing the PRICE AWARD on behalf of the VPAM.
